The Die Casting Part Production Process Explained 2019

The Die Casting Part Production Process Explained 2019 –

What is the Die Casting Process? The Die Casting Part Production Process Explained.

Kinetic Die Casting Company uses a manufacturing process called “Die Casting” to make aluminum die casting parts and zinc die casting parts. But, what is the die casting part production process? Here is a GIF image I have on our home page to demonstrate:

demonstration of the die casting process
demonstration of the die casting process

“Aluminum die casting is an aluminum metal parts production process where molten aluminum metal alloy is injected into a steel die, under extreme pressure, to manufacture aluminum parts” (Substitute the word “zinc” for “aluminum” in zinc die casting part production process)

Another GIF example example is on this web page:

Cold Chamber High Pressure Die Casting Machine

Cold Chamber Die Casting Process

The image pictured above depicts a Cold Chamber Die Casting Machine as it makes parts. The term “Cold Chamber Die Casting” refers to a separate metal melting furnace. The High Pressure Die Casting, cold chamber die casting process follows this sequence:

Look at the die casting machine image above

  1. The die casting machine opens the die casting mold.
  2. The prior part is removed and the die cast mold is sprayed for the next part
  3. The aluminum is poured using a ladle into a shot cylinder
  4. The shot piston injects the metal into the die casting mold.
  5. The machine opens and the process starts again.

Contact Kinetic Die Casting Company for more information about the high pressure die casting process and about how to get great die casting parts at a great price and delivered quickly, no matter what quantity you need.

Making Aluminum Brackets 2019

Making Aluminum Brackets 2019 –

Making Aluminum Die Casting Brackets – Aluminum Castings as Bracket Hardware is used in the process of building houses and other structures. Mainly, these brackets are used to keep things in place during the construction phase when some parts or beams should not move. This part is also used in making chocolate fountains and lighting fixtures to hold the other parts together during the construction process so that it ends up perfectly in place. There are many uses for the Aluminum Die Casting Brackets Hardware which is why it needs to be produced fast and cheap and not only that, it is required to be very strong. This is why aluminum is used in making this bracket because aluminum isn’t only abundant, it is considered to be stronger than steel and lighter as well.

Since Die Cast Aluminum Bracket Hardware is made through a process known as die casting, it becomes even stronger than steel brackets. The latter is made in pieces and assembled by welding them together. In die casting, there is no need to weld the pieces. This process starts with melting the aluminum bar into liquid. Once the metal is liquefied, it can be placed in large die cast molds so that it will take on a new shape, in this case the shape of a bracket. When it cools down overtime, the result is a single piece of bracket and not several pieces that need to be weld together as welding points can create weak spots.

Plastic Injection Molded Parts 2019

Plastic Injection Molded Parts 2019 –

Aluminum Die Casting Parts vs Plastic Injection Molded Parts.

Plastic Injection molding and aluminum die casting are similar in a lot of ways:

  • Both require a mold or tool to produce parts.
  • The tooling cost is very similar in both industries.
  • Both processes inject material into a mold to make parts.
  • Both processes can make hundreds or thousands of parts every day.

Plastic Injection Molded Parts
Advantages

  • Plastic parts are produced at a lower temperature than aluminum parts, plastic melts at only a few hundred degrees Fahrenheit
  • Plastic Parts weigh less than aluminum die casting parts.

Disadvantages:

  • Plastic is not typically biodegradable
  • Plastic parts require metal inserts to hold a thread for screws.
  • Plastic does not block EMI/RF waves
  • Plastic Parts are not as strong.

Aluminum Die Casting Parts

Disadvantages

  • Aluminum parts weigh more than plastic.
  • Aluminum parts are produced in only one color and need paint or powder coat for color.

Advantages

  • Aluminum naturally shields EMI/RF waves.
  • Holes can be directly threaded into the parts.
  • Features can be machined into aluminum.
  • Aluminum has great thermal transference properties.
  • Aluminum is a natural conductor of electricity.
  • Aluminum material is environmentally friendly and can be recycled easily when done.
  • All aluminum alloys (360, 380, 383, and 413) are made from recycled materials.
  • Aluminum parts are stronger than plastic

Diecasting Aluminum Handles

Diecasting Aluminum Handles –

Aluminum Die Casting Handles are used as drawer pulls, door handles, and basically anything that can be opened or closed that requires a handle to be used. Initially, homeowners think that the best aluminum handles or aluminum die casting hardware are those that can match the color and texture of the furniture on which it is used on. While this may be true, it is not the most efficient method. Handles that match a furniture’s theme are usually made from wood or plastic. This makes the handles prone to breakage especially if the furniture is used multiple times in a single day. It is therefore recommended to use aluminum handles on all furniture.

Aluminum die cast handles have a certain degree of quality that surpasses most materials used for the same purpose. For instance, these aluminum handles do not break or crack under extreme pressure whereas wood disintegrates over time. Also, these aluminum handles would require an excess amount of pressure before they start to bend. This makes them ideal for doors and heavy-duty storage compartments. In terms of aesthetics, these handles do not have much to offer since their looks are simply straightforward. They usually come in a silver or black color with a matte or satin anodized finish.

Aluminum handles can be purchased in hardware stores, online stores, and DIY stores. An entire section is oftentimes dedicated to handles and a majority of the handles being sold is of the aluminum variety. They come in different shapes, sizes, and forms. Still, they all share the same properties and it is expected that all of them will last for a very long time.
